G'Day!

Firstly, I would like to congratulate classpath for the great job
you are doing. The writing of the java classes in an open source
license is an important step in the opening up of Java.

When I first became aware of classpath, I wanted to start a new
project. I began by starting a swing implementation which I hope
to package up and submit some day to classpath (There isn't much
to it yet, but it is a start). While working on swing I felt
there was a more urgent need for open source versions of standard
extensions; many of which were binary-only distributions from Sun.
I started a project over at sourceforge called "Open Java Extensions"
for developing clean-room versions of these extensions under an
open source license.

So far, I have functioning versions of:
  InfoBus 1.2 (mostly complete)
JavaBeans Activation Framework 1.0.1 (still work to do)

Being worked on/planned:
  JavaMail
  Java Media Framework

I would appreciate any comments that you may have. Continue the
great work!
