I'd just like to echo Mark's sentiments here -- it is hard to play the "pedantic maintainer" role, and I thought he could use some encouragement. I use the ChangeLog entries to figure things out from time to time; good entries are really quite useful and not that much harder to write. FWIW I always make my cvs commit message the same as the ChangeLog entry; this makes it a bit easier to go from the ChangeLog to the actual change.
