Could it be somewhere else in the build tools?
/usr/bin/ld --version GNU ld version 2.14.90.0.7 20031029 Debian GNU/Linux
do have the Sun JDK in my path:
/usr/java/bin:/usr/java/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/bin/X11:/usr/games:/home/adam/bin:/home/adam/apps/ant/bin:/home/adam/bin
Nothing in LD_LIBRARY_PATH, no CLASSPATH variable set. I'll try removing the JDK references and see what happens.
Actually, just tried it with not references to the Sun JDK, so no confusion there.
