The most appropiate event in that area will be the GCC Summit. http://www.gccsummit.org/2005/ June 22-24, 2005, Ottawa, Canada You probably want to organize something just before or after it since the call for papers is till today and the event itself is actually pretty expensive. But it would be nice to get some buy in from some of the GNU development tools hackers going there and nothing prevents you from just tagging along or having a side conference for those explictly interested in issue around GNU Classpath specificly.
