Just a follow up to my earlier question. Neither Vista SP1 or XP SP3 RC2 work with the cisco checks in 4.1.2.0. We have clients showing up with Vista SP1 RTM pre-installed so we had to configure a work around to let them on.

In the case of XP, cisco checks are looking for either SP1 or SP2, so an SP3 option is needed to fix that.

I opened a case regarding support for Vista SP1 and was told that it's being considered for support in 4.1.3.2 but no release date for that yet. With SP1 installed, the Cisco checks fail as follows.

   1. Install Microsoft Windows Updates (Mandatory)
          * Passed Checks:
            pc_KB925902_2_MS07-017_Vista
            pc_KB944533_1_MS08-010_Vista
            pc_KB944533_2_MS08-010_Vista
            pc_KB946026_1_MS08-007_Vista
            pc_KB930178_2_MS07-021_Vista
            pc_KB938127_MS07-050_Vista
            pc_KB925902_1_MS07-017_Vista
            pc_KB943055_MS08-008_Vista
            pc_KB930178_1_MS07-021_Vista
            pc_KB946026_2_MS08-007_Vista
          * Failed Checks:
            pc_KB929123_1_MS07-034_Vista, File Check
                [$SYSTEM_32\acctres.dll later than [C]06/11/2007 00:00:00]
            pc_vista64, Registry Check
                [\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\ exists ]

When I check that file ($SYSTEM_32\acctres.dll), it is dated 11/2/2006 which presumably is why it's failing. Not sure why SP1 restores an older DLL file!

Just wondered how others are dealing with the new Service Packs for XP and Vista? In the last few days we've had a few XP users showing up with RC1/2 installed, and one fellow claims to have Vista SP1 RTM installed. Both are failing the Cisco supplied checks (CCA 4.1.2).

XP is failing these checks (presumably no SP3 check yet):

Failed Checks:
pc_Windows-XP-SP2, Registry Check [\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CSDVersion
contains Service Pack 2]

pc_Windows-XP-SP1, Registry Check [\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\CSDVersion
contains Service Pack 1]
