Hi Bruce -

 

It wasn't connected but we did reboot the server. What is weird is that
it obviously recognized the addition of a USB device but recognized it
as a drive(?!?). Our IP KVM is Avocent so maybe it's just how they work.
I know that it expects to do both mouse and keyboard over one connection
- that may be the issue there. Still, it doesn't make sense to me. I
have a TAC open using our model (CCA 3140 appliances) and version
(4.1.3) but so far haven't heard much. Thanks for the input though. That
really bites about the installer!

I believe that I have had USB working with our Raritan KVMs, is the KVM
is connected before you boot the server.

 

 You _need_ PS/2 keyboard to install from the CD. Cisco's version of the
anaconda installer only seems to support PS/2 or serial :(
