All,

I have observed that the timestamps in the logs (e.g. /var/log/messages) kept on the CAS and CAM are not in sync with the local time. It appears that they are using the "hardware clock" time -- notice the difference:

[r...@cas2 ~]# date
Wed Aug 26 08:18:42 EDT 2009

[r...@cas2 ~]# hwclock --show
Wed 26 Aug 2009 05:18:45 AM EDT -0.683364 seconds

Notice the EDT in both cases; this isn't a matter of GMT vs local time.

There is an "hwclock --systohc" which would set the hardware clock to match the system clock. Has anyone done this? Maybe everyone except me already has? Any troubles created by putting these clocks in sync?

Thanks for any clues.
