Homer, This is a troubleshooting tip so it might or might not help with the weblogin with Mac OS X problem. The combination of Java errors with indeterminate results with Safari and Firefox points me to a Java issue. Try clearing the Java Cache from Mac OS X. If you do not know how to do that instructions are located at https://wiki.csuchico.edu/confluence/display/help/Delete+Java+Cache+in+Windows+XP+and+Mac+OS+X.
