That is the implication of what I suggested, yes. (There would be one 
changeset per CWD.)

One can preserve the changesets at the expense of doing some more work. 
Note that doing so would not only preserve your changesets, but also 
preserve Phil's changesets. (I don't know of a way to selectively delete 
changesets.)

Here is how it can be done safely (still requires a pair of CWDs at each 
level):

Create clearview-ipmp-reci by cloning clearview-noipmp-reci.
Then pull from clearview-ipmp.
Do a merge. Then diff all the active files between clearview-ipmp and 
clearview-ipmp-reci. If there are any differences, fix by copying the 
files from clearview-ipmp.

How clearview-ipmp and clearview-ipmp-reci have the same content, and 
include the changeset that Phil pushed to onnv-gate.

Once that is done the next level (clearview) can do the same. Finally I 
can do the same in refactor-gate.
