Raoul,

I only had a look of the overview document according to your request. It is
a nice document.

1. Section "Overview of Network Link Names"

1.1 "Network Interface Names"

"Each physical interface is identified by a unique device name. ..."

I don't think this is still true. I understand why introduction of device
name is still necessary, especially that we decide we will use the device
name as the default link name of the physical links in this phase, but
device name will not be the identifier of a physical interface.

1.2 "Link Names"

"If an underlying hardware is removed from the system, the link
configuration remains".

While this is true, I think it is somewhat confusing why the configuration
is not deleted when the hardware is removed. It is better to give some more
background. Something like:

If an underlying hardware is removed from the system, the link
configuration remains, unless it is deleted by the request from the
administrator. This allows the configuration can be transfer to a replacing
hardware...

2. Section "Rules for Valid Link Names"

"The name must abide by the following constraints that are identfied in the
Notes section of the dlpi(7P) man page"

It should be "The string part of the name must abide ..."

Thanks
- Cathy
