Hi Cathy,

I've been going over our Link Name doc. The doc might need a little more
clarification in the zone migration section. In this section we talk
about applying link naming in a very general scenario involving zone
migration. We say that before creating or configuring any zone, we
should replace data-link names with meaningful names first.

However, such a recommendation cannot be done in current zone setups.
Any existing zone would be in systems whose link names are
hardware-based. In this scenario, any migration will essentially mean
"transition" to using link names. We might need to draw up some steps
about how to perform this transition. What do you think? And what steps
would be involved?

e.g., In the current zone docs, a zone is configured to use hme0. After
it is migrated to a system with link-name support, and whose link is
named net0, we would not rename net0 to hme0. Seems likes some
intervening steps are required for the new link to inherit the zone's
original link configration but at the same time avoid going back to
hardware-based names. Is this a valid issue?

Thanks,
Raoul
