I actually agree with NOT packaging the file that is fattached() to, nscd, kcfd, syseventd, syslogd, picld, don't do that so I don't think dlmgmtd should either. My suggestion of using /etc/dladm/ was to avoid the need to start as root merely to create /var/run/dladm as a dir owned by the dladm user. Cathy has pointed out though that dlmgmtd needs to start as root for other reasons though. Given that I think /var/run is a better place than /etc/dladm/ and since it is in /var/run it shouldn't (nay can't) be packaged. -- Darren J Moffat
