The preliminary service could > even serve a number of services to be run with limited privileges and IDs. > Like I mentioned to Darren: for this particular case, root privileges are needed not only for creating the dladm subdirectory and the door file, but also for opening the dld control node. dlmgmtd must finish all those operation before it seteuid to "dladm".
