Seb, Testing our docs against actual IP tunneling work has gone well so far. I have managed to acquire good output that could be added to our final doc as examples. (Feedback on our documentation indicate that more examples are desirable.)
Some points came up but which you already briefed me about, and which you're probably working on, too. I'll just summarize them: * Need for messages about successful operations. * Clarify error messages to better alert the user. * The format of show-iptun output given the text-wrap (I mentioned a suggestion in the attached log. Hopefully it's feasible.) * Some minor problems but these might be due to the fact that work is still ongoing - e.g., a problem using hostnames when I was creating ipv6 tunnels. Also a question: The old method (i.e., pre-proj. Clearview info in our current sysadmin guide) says that tasks to create and configure tunnels have to be performed at both ends of the tunnel. Is this still true? It is not obviously mentioned in our project Clearview doc draft, and I should add it, assuming it is still the case. I'm attaching the log that I kept as I was going along so you can see my "route" while doing the testing. I can do more of these tests again as ip tunnel gets farther along, especially when vanity naming is added into the mix. Thanks for setting the systems up. If something's not clear in the attached log, just let me know. Raoul -------------- next part -------------- An embedded and charset-unspecified text was scrubbed...
