Today's inception review went well, and kudos goes to Phil for preparing excellent materials and being there to comment on issues.
Here are my notes concerning issues that would need to be addressed prior to commitment: 1. Get some idea of probe-effect in general, and more specifically as it pertains to un-fusing loopback TCP connections. 2. Document how the feature relates to other features such as LSO and MDT. 3. Document how the architecture handles multicast and broadcast packets. The specific issue here is that some would expect to be able to see all multicast packets on the wire by observing one of these devices. The problem is that the current implementation does not allow this to happen, as the ip module only receives traffic for multicast addresses that have been enabled by IP applications. This needs to be resolved. And that is all! Again, excellent work Phil. -Seb
