I'm glad to hear your phones are now registering OK.

To connect Clearwater to the PSTN, you need a SIP trunk. There are many
options here.

· You may be able to get a SIP trunk directly from an upstream
provider. As far as I'm aware, we've only tested with Voxbone (documented at
https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/Voxbone). I believe this
only offers inbound (not outbound) calls, but it is very easy to set up.

· You may be able to get an ISUP trunk into the PSTN and then a device
to interwork it with SIP. For example, for a lot of our PSTN testing, we use a
Metaswitch Integrated Softswitch
(http://www.metaswitch.com/products/communications-infrastructure/integrated-softswitch).

· You may be able to get an ISDN trunk into the PSTN and then use
something like Asterisk (with a suitable hardware adapter card) to interwork it
with SIP.

· (Depending on your locality, there may be other interconnection
options - my experience is mainly for the US.)

Which you go for depends on your requirements, but if you can get a SIP trunk
directly, that may be simplest.

Once you've got your SIP trunk set up, you'll need to configure ENUM (to map
dialed telephone numbers to URIs) and BGCF (to control how to route the URIs).
This is documented at https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/IBCF.

I hope that helps.

Matt

Would you tell us how to connect to PSTN?

Han,

Regarding the mailing list, you should have received a confirmation email with
a link you need to click - please can you check your junk mail folder in case
it mistakenly got filed there?

Your configuration looks correct. Please can you follow
https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/Troubleshooting-and-Recovery#sprout
to enable logging from sprout and share the logs from an attempted
registration?

Incidentally, it's easier if you could share network captures as .pcap files,
rather than as screenshots.

Thanks,

Matt

Han,

First, please can you sign up to the Clearwater mailing list
(http://lists.projectclearwater.org/listinfo/clearwater)? This means your
posts will be accepted immediately, rather than having to be approved by an
admin. Also, it means you will see the other activity on the mailing list,
which may help you with problems you're hitting.

I think the primary issue you're hitting is that your domain and SIP
authorization name are wrong. To get this to work, you'll also need to switch
to configure a proxy and switch to Zoiper.

• The domain must match the home domain configured on Clearwater. For
an all-in-one image, it is "example.com<http://example.com>" - unless you've
changed that, you need to set the domain in X-Lite to
"example.com<http://example.com>" too.

• By default, the authorization name is of the form
"<username>@<homedomain>". Please can you set your authorization username to
"[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" (without the
double-quotes).

• After changing the domain to example.com<http://example.com>, your
SIP client will attempt to contact example.com<http://example.com> rather than
your Clearwater instance at 192.168.0.7. You'll need to configure a proxy for
this.

• Unfortunately, X-Lite's proxy configuration only applies to the first
request in a dialog. Zoiper applies proxy configuration to all requests, and
so is the recommended client for testing with all-in-one nodes.

This is documented at

•
https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/Making%20your%20first%20call#configure-your-client
 (SIP configuration)

•
https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/All-in-one-OVF-Installation#running-and-using-the-image
 (proxy)

•
https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/Making%20your%20first%20call#prerequisites
 (Zoiper requirement for all-in-one nodes).
It's worth familiarizing yourself with those.

I hope that helps.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi,

Your password has been rejected as it’s too easy to guess (see the red error
text for a description).

As background, we use zxcvbn (https://github.com/dropbox/zxcvbn) to test the
password strength. This detects ~10,000 common passwords, common American names
and surnames, common English words, and common patterns like dates, repeats
(aaa), sequences (abcd), and QWERTY patterns.

Can you enter a password that meets the requirements in the Password box (and
the same password in the Confirm Password box) and retry? The red error text
gives a list of ways to increase password strength (e.g. adding numbers or
symbols).

Han,

The signup code for the all-in-one image is "secret" (without the
double-quotes). See
https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/All-in-one%20OVF%20Installation#running-and-using-the-image
 for more details.

I hope that helps.

I installed All-in-one image to VirtualBox 4.3.12.
To create SIP user to clearwater, i loged in Ellis server by web browser as
attached file(login file).
It is first time to login. So i need username, password to log-in. next, select
"sign-up" and fill out next signup screen except signup code.
According to document," Sign up as a new user, using the signup code you set as
signup_key when configuring your deployment
<https://github.com/Metaswitch/clearwater-docs/wiki/Installing%20a%20Chef%20client#add-deployment-specific-configuration>."
. How can i get sign up code ? There is no ~/.chef/knife.rb file.
