Subject: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince release note

Hello Project Clearwater users,

At present Project Clearwater runs on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (precise pangolin). For
the next release of Project Clearwater we are planning to move to using Ubuntu
14.04 LTS (trusty tahr) instead. This brings us onto the most recent long-term
supported version of Ubuntu.

As a result of the move to 14.04, the latest release of Project Clearwater
(Harry Potter) will be the last release built for 12.04. Future releases will
contain packages built for 14.04, and the AMI and OVA will be updated to use
14.04.

This means that release after Harry Potter may not run on 12.04 systems. If you
have existing 12.04 systems you should either not upgrade them beyond Harry
Potter, or you will need to delete your nodes and recreate them on 14.04. We do
not recommend trying to upgrade a node from 12.04 to 14.04. The packages from
Harry Potter release will be archived off on our repo server, so you can still
install new 12.04 nodes if you need to.

If this is going to cause significant pain, please let us know as soon as
possible.

Thanks,
Alex.
