I've just encountered this after deleting all of the music off my Samsung
Galaxy s5. Very annoying.

Apparently they stopped updating the connection to devices for Windows
because it became too complicated for the developers; it can be still be
done on Linux but not Windows. You can manually copy and paste playlists
and your music, or use the other Operating System (which is frustrating and
still not entirely guaranteed).
One work around is to use the Clemetine remote app to copy the music (which
is almost definitely going to be slower than USB 3.0 - but you can find it
under the preferences dialogue or the PlayStore). I personally couldn't get
it connected due to furhter issues with firewalls interfering with IPs and
whatever else, and I'm really not keen on an airsync anyway.

*What I've done at this point* is remove the SD card and insert it into the
computer, mounted it like a USB - it shows up in Clementine then I can copy
whatever I like to the disk, then reinsert it into my phone and everything
shows up. It's hardly a "sync" but it's a way to get all of my music that I
need.

*In order to get playlists* I have exported them as m3u files, but they are
still have an absolute path. In order to change this, I got a free batch
text editing software (ReplaceText2.2) and had to change the file path from
"Z:/" to a blank field (so instead of
"Z:/music/etc" it becomes "music/etc", so that it will automatically search
within the directory the playlist is located. That makes external drives
work without a hitch.

I also prefer Clementine to other music players (moved away from iTunes due
to their affecting my music library folder structure and annoying updates).
I thought this would be able to cover me, especially in regards to using
the same music library between multiple computers with a HDD or with cloud
storage. This is an irritating issue, especially if you're not running
Linux (which finds the "SAMSUNG android" straight away but apparently I
need to go through adding code through terminal to get it to read properly
- it's stuck at 0%). I hope the developers of clementine make the process a
bit easier.
