I found this irritating as well. Seems like the server for the Artist info is no longer serving on that API address - this happened only in May 2016, thought it was just ui issues then checked by running from the command line and saw:
Error downloading http://developer.echonest.com/api/v4/artist/biographies?api_key=.... First I went to the echo nest URL then I searched the project issues for echo nest on github: https://github.com/clementine-player/Clementine/issues/5416 So hopefully there will be a new official release with these updates for all platforms soon (quite a bit of testing involved probably).
