I see that I posted this more than a year ago already and unfortunately (for me) I still have most of the same frustrations with the programme. I am still making it work for me through the use of playlists and I am now quite happily using the "organise files" function to export files so that I can put them on a flash stick or whatever. I would really appreciate it if my requests could be considered again as I still find the existing library approach not very useful and can search and navigate my songs much better just by using a playlist loaded with all my close to 50 000 or so songs. The library anyway still does not pick all my songs up e.g. loading my own playlist with all my songs shows 49 524 songs whilst using the all tracks smart playlist amounts to only 48 604 songs.
