I have the same problem. It seems like last version to use with ALSA is 
1.2. The problem with 1.2 is that it's not working with android remote app..
My suggestion to devs - bring back ALSA feature in 1.3.2 and if you think 
it's too complicated to have all those options for normal user - just add 
checkbox with "advanced settings" that will show hide features like ALSA.
Removing them from pp is not a good idea.
