A multi-platform plug-in would be fantastic for the Google Chromecast audio
device. I have Android, Linux and Windows OS devices and I use them all.

So far, it seems Chromecast audio is primarily chained to Android when
using Chromecast audio. I've seen some hacks for Windows and Linux but
there is a dependency on the Chrome browser. Linux, Ubuntu and Debian
flavors, well, hacks and alphas with unreliable results especially when
there are library dependencies involved due to software repository
versions. Ah, I know there are solutions for this but I'm thinking on the
lowest common denominator, the nube.

Chromecast audio is a wonderful but simple device, it has a 192khz 24bit
DAC for uncommon HD stereo audio with optional optical TOSlink for those
audiophiles with high end stereo modules and also the low end spectrum,
those that have the ultra-budget garbage dumped acquired amplified computer
speaker with rodent droppings embedded in the speaker grill.

Chromecast audio serves them all but dependency on android platforms surely
makes it inflexible to put it kindly. I surely understand the marketing
angle for this but cooperation makes friends and a positive dependency type
without the selfishness.
