open the smart playlist *all tracks* you will have a better idea total 
tracks & time

many times tracks aren't missing so much as not where you think they should 
be
fix the the tags [metadata], find the files
unknown, compilations & assorted artists are all places files can hide
display the library by album or genre instead of by artist
click on the files tab [left side] instead of library

it's good to check files you've imported before putting them in your 
library, Exaile player is a good tool for checking the quality of the 
metadata from locations other than your library
  
the Clementine tag editor is good, Easy Tag better
