As a workaround (for other people hitting that problem) the Clementine
configuration file - .config/Clementine/Clementine.conf - can be edited
to have:
keeprunning=false
hidden=false

It would be good to have a parameter to minimize on close )instead of
hiding the main window) or even better have a configurable shortcut to
bring it back (or even a command line command to show the window - a
shortcut to call that could be defined at the Window Manager level).
