All,

The 3rd time this has happened. I run Clementine, go to my library to
create a playlist, and I notice albums are not in the listing. I almost
exclusive use "Genre/Album" as my library GroupBy setting. Today in
creating a holiday-themed playlist of pop Christmas music, I noticed albums
by Take6, Straight No Chaser, and Pentatonix missing. And because this has
happened before I checked and sure enough, there is now a new genre
"Other." I just counted and there are 395 albums in this genre listing.
WTH? I guarantee you have have not systematically opened and set the genre
to "Other" for these 395 albums-- that would take a considerable amount of
time.

The last two times this has happened, I simply did a complete rescan of the
library and that "fixed" the issue -- all albums restored to their expected
genre. Today though, I did not do that. Is something I awry with
Clementine, perhaps a database, etc.? So, I uninstalled, removed the
.config/Clementine folder, and the C:\Program Files (x86)/Clementine
folder, and cleaned out the registry. And I downloaded the last nightly
build.

I installed the nightly and added my library folder to the settings. After
the scan, those damned Other genre albums persisted. Now I've select "Tools
- Do a full library rescan" and Clementine is doing that and it's taking a
long time. I expect it too as I have a ginormous library (4000+ albums).

Three questions ...

1. Any know what's up with this "Other" genre madness?
2. Where is the library DB stored? I thought that deleting
.config/Clementine and C:\Program Files (x86)\Clementine would delete it
and force Clementine to create everything from scratch. But now I see this
is not so because when I reinstalled with the nightly and configured
Clementine for my library, the time it took to present the library list was
FAR shorter than it's taking now.
3. The last nightly was last done in November, 2017!?!? -- has development
of Clementine ceased?
