I am running Clementine 1.3.1 on a fresh install of Linux Mint 19.1. I wish to direct GStreamer output directly to ALSA. In the settings, I choose "Output to a sound card via ALSA." I then click Apply and then OK.
If I close the dialog window and re-open it, the selection has reverted back to "Choose Automatically." I then proceeded to Clementine.conf and confirmed that sink=auto had changed to sink=alsasink I re-launched Clementine and opened the preferences, which again show "Choose Automatically" for the GStreamer output. I can keep changing this to ALSA, but after closing and reopening the dialog, it has reverted back to "Choose Automatically." So the config file shows one thing, but the preferences dialog says another. In my previous version (1.2) of Clementine, this did not happen. The dialog box showed "Output to a sound card via ALSA." Now I am confused. Is Clementine using the setting (ALSA) that is contained in the config file, or is it using the setting shown in the dialog box in the player (Automatic)? Is this a bug, or is my procedure incorrect? Many thanks! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Clementine Music Player" group.
