Thanks. Going via the files doesn't even need a tag Clicking on /home/ourmusic/his and selecting 'Open in new playlist' creates a new playlist with songs only from this folder(s)
This solves the first issue as I can now create different playlists for different folders What I can't do via this approach is a Dynamic Random Mix for these (specific) playlists.
