Check the setting in "Tools/Preferences/Behaviour/When Sorting Artist, 
Albums and Behaviours". If this is tuned on with the default "a, the" that 
will give you the results you are seeing I believe. I always turn this off 
as it has caused me quite a bit of issue in the past.
