The embarrassingly trivial: Did you save the changes? It sounds like something is lwriting it back when the song is done playing. Editorial: A dangerous practice. Every time a file gets written it can sustain damage. I bet the file is not edited in place but actually copied. This can break many "unrelated' things.I cannot tell you why [the music player is doing so] Is it possible you changed some settings in between then and now? Something that keeps track of playback? Or something that keeps the metadata (fluff around the music) "with the music"?
