I asked a question about Clementine's improper font scaling after an
upgrade to Xubuntu 22.04.1 but there were no responses, so I thought I
would build it myself and see if the problem resolved. My current player
is from the standard repository, version 1.4.0_rc1+git347-gfc4cb6fc7+dfsg-2
and About Clementine reports version 1.4 rc2.

The current download website may or may not be up-to-date. I followed the
instructions and pulled the source with:

git clone https://github.com/clementine-player/Clementine.git
clementine-player

when I look in dist/versionnumbers.py the latest number is 1.0-1-g044287b
so I'm thinking that this is old code. When I attempt to run cmake, I get:

CMake Error at
/usr/share/cmake-3.22/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:230
(message):
Could NOT find Protobuf (missing: Protobuf_LIBRARIES Protobuf_INCLUDE_DIR)
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  /usr/share/cmake-3.22/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:594
(_FPHSA_FAILURE_MESSAGE)
  /usr/share/cmake-3.22/Modules/FindProtobuf.cmake:650
(FIND_PACKAGE_HANDLE_STANDARD_ARGS)
  CMakeLists.txt:49 (find_package)

I do have the libprotobuf-c1 package installed.

So, more directly, what is the procedure for getting/compiling the most
recent stable build and what are the package requirements? Am I even
looking in the right place?

Thanks.
