Hi. In LFS-Support, cunnilinux send a message about the topic a couple of weeks ago. Try to search in that list. This version of GCC has a threat with kernel, I think it's better you read the links in the LFS thread carefully. Kernels 2.6.24.4 has been corrected this issue but I don't know about user-space programs. Good luck.
