Not too many for CLFS-standard book. ALot for sysroot and embedded and previous versions of CLFS. We cleared a bunch out before package freeze. I've added more during package freeze for things you mention and possible package updates based on the severity of cases, such as KMOD 18 which fixes some bugs.
