Let me add some more information to this, I've been trying to help him
out. What it looks like is that redhat 9, which he is running is not
using NPTL and thats the cause of the problem.
Some of the information he has provided me
libc_cv_c_cleanup=${libc_cv_c_cleanup=yes}
libc_cv_forced_unwind=${libc_cv_forced_unwind=yes}
However, regarding host running NPTL, Yes it seems the host is not
running NPTL.

However, when I ran getconf GNU_LIBPTHREAD_VERSION command, it shows
NPTL 0.29.
