the final builds from file-4.17 and, i believe, from readline-5 fails
because make can't find zlib.h. but it was still present in
/usr/include. i changed simple the relevant sourcefile from:
include <zlib.h> to include </usr/include/zlib.h>. this worked. is this
the right way???
