I can't comment on that platform with glibc-2.5, but there don't
seem to be many people around so I'll throw in my £0.02.

I'm finishing off a desktop build on LFS svn (i686) using glibc-2.5
(against 2.6.18.x kernel headers), and on that the glibc nptl tests
failed badly although the resulting desktop system seems to be ok. I
guess that a change (kernel, headers, or toolchain) has proved the
nptl tests are fragile. I'm also guessing that glibc-2.5 has not had
a vast amount of testing yet.

So, unless somebody else is building on the same platform and can
say that they don't see this failure, I think you are *probably* ok
to continue, As always, what really matters is how well the resulting
system works. Testsuites can be useful: sometimes they highlight
problems, sometimes they indicate a problem but the cause is
elsewhere, sometimes they break. Sometimes, there are other errors
which the testsuite doesn't notice.
