LS, I'm building a system by following the book 1.0.0-x86_64-multilib. I'm using the boot method and have build a minimal kernel in chapter 7.11 Now I'm on chapter 12.3 where I need to build a kernel suited to my needs.
The problem that I face is when I start 'make menuconfig' I see a lot of strange characters on the screen. The total menu is surrounded by the character ^@ (a caret and a at). I can recognise the tekst and even select some items but it is not possible to recognise the input I give. I already copied the inputrc file from my old suse10 system but this also didn't help. I really don't know where to start to solve the problem. Can somebody give me a hint. Thanks in advance.
