Hi,

I started looking into the possibility of using the LiveCD for my company's
needs. My company needs to deliver a 700 MB CD-R containing a Linux OS,
various flavors of the xorg.conf files (for different video chip sets), a
few Qt GUI applications, and some shell scripts. This CD-R has to be able
to install the Linux OS and these additional packages onto the target system
(which is of an i686 architecture). Once the OS is installed and the system
is rebooted, an auto-login needs to take place, where then X-windows needs
to be launched, followed by the Qt GUI application.

Is it possible to use LiveCD for this purpose? If so, how do I add Qt and
GUI applications to the root.ext2 area of the LiveCD? I've read through the
/root/lfscd-remastering-how.txt within the LiveCD distro, however this
document does not fully explain how to add files/packages to the '/build'
directory. It also does not provide any hints as to whether other files can
be added within other directories within the root.ext2 area.

I've experimented recently with trying to build my own LFS on a host system
that is not the target system, following some of the concepts in the
LFS-Embedded book (namely because of its reference to 'busybox'). Today I
was unable to properly configure the X11 source, much less build it, and now
have turned my attention to LiveCD with I have hopes that I can simply reuse
what has already been built to quickly prototype a bootable system.

Anyhow, to summarize, I would like to consider using LiveCD as a platform to
deliver an installable Linux system with my company's s/w applications. How
can I do this?
