After setting up the basic system with the clfs book and installing some
packages like the SGML toolchain and so on, I've gone for the packages needed
to build X11, but when I get to untar the xorg-xserver tarball and apply the
sed transformations, the configure script doesn't allow me to compile xserver
as it still searchs for the array_cache subdirectory while the new Mesa source
use the new vbo (vertex buffer object) infrastructure.
There's two patches posted by Dan Nicholson to remove the references to
array_cache and place the new vbo ones, but they doesn't work (the second patch
fails to locate some text strings and substitute them), so... is there any
chance to mix these two packages?
