. I'm not sure exactly which one of the config.cache entries from bash 
affects this. I suppose that for the time being I can add them all in.

The reason for m4 and bison. bison is a dependency of bash when you 
modify the any .y file in the source (as the patch does), and m4 is a 
dependency of bash. I'm going to update the book with the fix for this 
right now.
