Hi!

We are trying to stream a video using VLC between laptops.

If I am not wrong, Click intercepts the packets coming from the wireless
interface and then delivers the packet to the kernel using the TUN interface.
Then VLC should receive the packets and play the video.

The problem is that, although we can see with wireshark that click is passing
the packets to TUN interface, VLC doesn't receive any packet... we already did:

chmod 0666 /dev/net/tun

but VLC continues not to receive packets.
Do we need to do something on TUN so that VLC can read packet from TUN
interface?

We try it on OpenSUSE 10.3 or Ubuntu 8.10, but nothing changes (only in few old
laptops everything is fine, but apparently we do not see any hacks from prior
students on TUN...same settings). We also tried changing VLC versions and
settings...no clues.... The funny thing is that, of course, when we are not
using click VLC shows the streaming video, when using click VLC stops even if
TUN is receiving packets!

Any help will be really appreciated!!!

Thank you in advance!

Daniele

PS the file that is provided for testing TUN works perfectly!

PPS same behavior when using mplayer instead of VLC
