The docs don't have a clear way to get data *out* of :opts they've been passed 
them in.  How do you look up a channel out of opts, e.g. in the context of 
(render-state [_] ...)?

Also, although I think the :opts placement makes more sense, I did find an 
example in the "beginner tutorial" that confusingly puts channels in 
component-local state:
