I use clojure.data/diff as briefly explained here 
http://ul.mantike.pro/syncing-om-with-sente/ , it should be fast on structures 
which share a lot.

It is also applicable to undo/redo stack, you could store it as a pile of 
patches on both sides. Or store them as immutable structures with full state, 
and update by sending patches like for current app state.
