I don't know about anyone else, but I use datomic, which allows me to store a 
transaction-id at the client. At regular intervals (every 10s) I poll the 
server, asking it to give me everything new since transaction x. I don't use a 
framework, because it's fairly easy to implement.

In this other project I have, where I used mongodb, I used a combination of 
websockets and differ for synchronization. Datomic is easier however.
