My company (Cloudbase Solutions) is responsible for the development of Cloudbase-init (the Windows Cloud-Init equivalent) and we're planning to add support for BSD as well which in turn can be integrated into Cloud-Init (the other way around is not possible due to Apache 2 vs GPL licensing). Seeing that we are still running freebsd in various places we might want to help in this work also.
