Subject: Writing documentation, where?
Hi,
Chip's e-mail about the 4.0 release woke me up, I still had to write some
documentation...
Wido,
I also have a lot to do getting documentation ready for 4.0! Thanks very
much for speaking up. This will be our first test run with multiple
contributors and using Publican on CloudStack docs. Should be interesting!
The help is very much appreciated.
Thanks for your very detailed e-mail, overwhelmed me a bit :)
As the 'docs' directory seems to be the location for docs I'll start there.
My first idea is to get publican actually build some docs locally..
wido@wido-desktop:~/repos/cloudstack/docs$ publican build --formats test
--langs en-US --config=publican-all.cfg
Failed to load brand file:
/usr/share/publican/Common_Content/cloudstack/publican.cfg at
/usr/bin/publican line 647
wido@wido-desktop:~/repos/cloudstack/docs$
I'll probably get back on this somewhere next week.
You asked about what I wanted to document:
1. RBD integration for CloudStack
2. Setting up an Agent with 4.0, using the UI, cloud-setup-agent and
manually
3. Upgrading your Hypervisor from 3.0.2 to 4.0
Give me some time, as my inbox is flooding with new e-mails about all
kinds of stuff :)

For 2.2 and 3.0.2 there is a Installation Guide, but where did that come
from? (What source) Are we going to maintain it for 4.0?
In the repository there is /docs and I guess that is the right place?
These are all DocBook XML files, but I can't find a Ant target for it?
How do I turn these XML files into viewable HTML files so I can verify
them?
Is this the place to document everything or are we going to maintain a
Wiki?
I want to update the documentation about configuring/adding a Hypervisor
host, the system requirements, using RBD and probably other stuff I'll find
along the way.
This is just one of the dots I'm still haven't connected.
