Mike Tutkowski created CLOUDSTACK-1459: ------------------------------------------
Summary: Stop using comma-delimited lists for Tag fields Key: CLOUDSTACK-1459 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1459 Project: CloudStack Issue Type: Improvement Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.) Components: UI Affects Versions: 4.0.0, pre-4.0.0, 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.1.0, 4.2.0 Environment: All supported environments for the GUI Reporter: Mike Tutkowski Fix For: Future >From a usability standpoint, it is not desirable to have users enter in a >comma-delimited list of items. * It can be difficult to remember the exact text you wish to enter (ex. was it PS_Gold or Gold_PS?). * It is easy to typo a list item (ex. you meant to type PS_Gold (to match an existing item), but instead you typed P_Gold). * It is not always clear if the text is case sensitive. I recommend when creating and referencing tags that we use an Available, Selected, New approach. For example, I could see a dialog that lists all Available tags. You could create a new one, which would be added to the Available list. You could move one or more tags from the Available list to the Selected list (and back again, if need be). -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA.
