Are we suggesting that we don't actually call "bare metal" a feature of 4.1? I
ask, because we obviously can't ship with a blocker for the feature. It sounds
like it's isolated though.
If we *do* ship without this fix, then we have to remove stuff from the docs
and have known issues in the release notes.
