We copy the keys to /root/.ssh which won't exist on an ubuntu machine. Are you able to add it with a sudo- capable username/password in the UI? Even that would likely fail because we assume a root account on the host which could be a supportable scenario - may be post an enhancement? -- Prasanna.,
