Since I only have one /24, I give the "CloudStack public IP's (the IP's
cloudstack will nat and do whateve with)" 2-31.

I then create a shared network using the same vlan with the IP range set to
32-254. I pretty much only use that shared network for all my VM's.

One day it would be nice if cloudstack would allow direct allocation of
Public IP's. Would also be great if networks/systemvm combos could use
templates so even the routing, nat, and other such networking stuff could
be customized. As it stands now, If I want to build my own LB, Proxy, or
network security Vm (think passthrough snort) I have to jump through many
hoops.
