Did you apply the patch? If you haven't please do and let me know if it
still works for you. I'm trying to fix this yet keep all compilers and
platforms work with it...

Removing the cast worked for me (on OS X w/ GCC 4.2.1). There was another
cast at IndexWriter.cpp:101 that needed to be removed in order to compile.
